Accommodation

There are lots of different types of accommodation to be found in and around the Lake Como area such as; hotels, villas/apartments to rent, B & B’s, Youth Hostels, Agriturismo and campsites. Prices will vary depending on the time of year. Many hotels (and of course campsites) normally close for the winter season. It starts getting busy from Easter up until mid September, therefore it is advisable to book in advance if you are planning to holiday during this period. If you arrive in Lake Como without pre-booking accommodation, you can go to one of the local tourists offices who will be able to help you and may even make the booking for you. Please note that in Italy, public swimming pools normally open on the 1st of June and close in September. This might not apply with a private villa or hotel but be sure to check in order to save disappointment.
