Internet cafès can be found in the towns of Como and Bellagio (it is more difficult to find internet points in the northern part of the lake). Most of the hotels have internet access and can cost between €2-€13 per hour.
The owners of the internet cafès are within the law to ask for andcheck their clients’ IDs and also to track websites visited by them; everything you do can be referenced back to you. This is the result of an anti-terrorism law that was passed in Italy.
Therefore you should take your passport with you as this will be asked for and copied in order to verify your name. The owner will then record which computer you are using, the time you logged on/off, applications used and what websites were visited and for how long.
