Mariuccia Mandelli was born in 1933. Her passion for fashion and design stemmed from her childhood where she spent most of her time in a friend's dressmaking shop. In later years, she trained as a teacher and in the 1950s, began selling skirts and dresses which she became known for. Krizia's went from strength to strength and became very successful. This gave Mariuccia the incentive to form another company and with the help from her husband Aldo Pinto, Kriziamaglia was established in Milan in 1954. In 1957 she had her first public show where her models wore fruit print dresses. Her designs are adaptable to any lifestyle, classical yet experimental but still maintain a feminine touch. Over 50 collections a year are created for the various Krizia labels, some of which are; menswear, children's wear, knitwear, as well as glasses, handbags and perfume.
Mariucci Mandelli was honoured with the title Commendore of the Italian Republic in 1986.
