Lake Como, Italy has all the ingredients to make for the perfect holiday.

Mila Schön was born in 1916 in Croatia to Italian aristocratic parents. The family relocated to Italy when schön was a child. It wasn't until she was into her 30's before she decided to enter the world of fashion.  She is well known for her modern style clothing with simple and elegant classical lines and her "double-faced" fabric. 

Mila Schön was a client of Dior and Balenciaga before she founded her own fashion house in 1958 and began dressing high-society Milanese women.  She held her first show in  1965, Milan, with her haute couture collection.  Thereafter with the success of her debut show (and others), she decided to expand her fashion house and her company then created the "double-faced" fabric as well as expanding into mens clothing and accessories.

Her designs became famous all over the world including the USA and the Far East.  By the 1990's her brand was struggling and the Japanese group Itochu took over her label, which was later sold to fashion group Mariella Burani.  It is now managed by the Brand Extension group.

Mila Schön died at the age of 92 in 2008, just days before Milan was set to pay homage to her 50 years in the fashion business.
