Milan is located in the plains of Lombardy in the north of Italy. It is known as the fashion capital of the world and is the second biggest city after Rome.

Milan is steeped in history and there are many beautiful buildings to see from old Milanese palazzos (palaces) to the modern tower blocks of today.  Two of the main airports for reaching Lake Como are located in Milan; Malpensa and Linate. It takes approximately 40 minutes from Milan by car to reach the town of Como.
