 A beautiful plate of fruit or a mouth-watering salad with tomatoes and carrots. A simple and economic dish to prepare in the hot weather or so you would have thought.
In reality to acquire these ingredients today in Lake Como costs considerably more than last year. Fruit and veg is becoming more of a luxury. Price increases have been recorded, in particular the following: a kilo of fennel cost €1,39 in 2008 and now costs €2,13, chicory has jumped in price from €2,23 to €3,10. |
