A near tragedy occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Mozzate on the Statale Varesina road when a 34 year old man was wounded by a gunshot in the lower abdomen.

He was shot by a rival who then took off in a car. The wounded man, 34 year old G.M. from Tradate (Varese), was taken to Saranno hospital and operated on: doctors do not consider his injury to be life-threatening since the bullet did not hit any vital organs. The case is being investigated by the local Cantù carabiniere who are looking for the man who disappeared. According to examiners, the incident is over a settling of scores, although they did not specify in which context.
