Lake Como, Italy has all the ingredients to make for the perfect holiday.

The popular restaurant and discotec owned by the family of the famous football player Diego De Ascentis was destroyed last week in a fire.

The lido which is a popular meeting place during the summer months is now estimated to have over €150,000 worth of damage caused by the fire.

A reconstruction was made by the National Fire Department to find the cause of the fire and it is thought that a short-circuit in the wiring was the culprit. A large part of the roof along with all the inner furnishings were destroyed.

This was an unfortunate event to happen after such a long summer season due to the excellent weather this year in Lake Como, Italy.
