| Como town closes major attractions during public holiday |
|
This decision by the municipal administration caused protests from hoteliers and the opposition. The local hotel owners demanded that the museums be open during high days as well as holidays. The municipality has already been criticized for closing the museums during Easter time last year. This year the promise to open all institutions during Easter time was kept, but judging by recent events, the lesson learned has been rapidly forgotten again! |

The town of Como in Italy was extremely busy at the beginning of last week with tourists, visitors and locals due to people taking advantage of a bridging for the catholic holiday “L' Immacolata”. Unfortunately Como did not present itself in the best way as some of the major attractions and shops were closed; Tempio Voltiano, the museum Giovio and the pinacoteca which are prime cultural attractions were inaccessible to the public the whole day.
