Lake Como, Italy has all the ingredients to make for the perfect holiday.

On friday night the first snowflakes fell in the town of Como as well as around many of the villages on Lake Como and up to Lugano, Switzerland. Within a few hours the towns along both Lake Como and Lake Lugano were covered in a blanket of snow.

The snowfall added to the magical atmosphere of the festive season and many people were happy to get wrapped up and go for a stroll and look at the beautiful Christmas scene of snow covered mountains.  Children and families could be seen having fun building the first snowmen of winter as well as having snowball fights.  Skiers and snowboarders would have been delighted with the amount of snowfall enabling them to take to the slopes of Madesimo or  St. Moritz in Switzerland and show off their skills.

Bellagio, one of the most picturesque villages on the lake, presented itself with a snow mantle.  Lets hope the snow continues as everyone loves a "White Christmas."
