Lake Como, Italy has all the ingredients to make for the perfect holiday.

The snow has finally arrived in Lake Como, not only in the mountain villages but also on the lakeside villages, albeit nothing like the UK weather at the moment! 

However if you plan to holiday here during the festive season and you are driving, ensure that you have a set of snow chains in your car-boot.  It is mandatory in Europe to have snow chains as well as snow tyres (a set of snow chains should be acceptable for British cars).  The police often do spotchecks and you can be fined for not having a set of snow chains in your car. 

With the weather in the UK currently resembling a scene from Winterwonderland, it is probably best to have a set in your car regardless of whether you are staying at home for Christmas or coming to Lake Como.
