Red Deer Sends Cyclist to Hospital

red-deerA cyclist was admitted to hospital last week after colliding with a red deer which was wandering in the main road in Lanzo Intelvi. The violent impact of the deer's antlers pierced the leather cycling helmet cutting into an artery.

The red deer is just one of many that populate the Valle d'Intelvi area and therefore find themselves coming into contact vehicles and humans.
