Tourism was booming over the first weekend in May with hotels full and Villa Olma in Como receiving plenty of visitors.
In spite of the economic crisis, the holiday weekend saw its highest number of foreign tourists compared to previous years. Lakeside ticket offices confirmed that a record number of tourists were boarding ferries which has previously been recorded only three times during this time of year. Staff from the ticket office for the funicular to Brunate have also confirmed that they have sold a vast number of tickets over the weekend. |
