Lake Como, Italy has all the ingredients to make for the perfect holiday.

The new roads that have been built to bypass Menaggio seem to be the cause of numerous traffic incidents.  The National Roads Department is trying to characterize the problem. 

It was recorded one Sunday morning that at least five motorists were involveld in traffic accidents, fortunately the only damage was to the cards.  Unfortunately, the number of accidents tend to increase in wet weather.

For those drivers travelling down from the town of Croce there is an unexpected tight curve before reaching the intersection that takes you towards the tunnel bypassing Menaggio. In order to avoid further accidents a new 'signal scheme' will be put in place along with the help of the Traffic Police tonotify drivers of the danger on these roads and to slow down.  Until this scheme is put in place the National Roads Dept. will implement signs telling drivers not to exceed the 30kph limit. 

Only one  month ago, two motorists were killed when hitting the wall at this same point on the road.  In the intermin an anti-oil substance has been scattered on the road to help prevent further traffic incidents.
