| Public Toilets |

Please note that public toilets are rare in Italy and you will often have to go to a bar or pizzeria. Normally it is not a problem to use the toilets in these places, but it is only good manners to at least buy a drink afterwards. At the larger shopping centres there is usually no problem as there are often public toilets.
Be warned! many of the toilets are still the style of a 'hole in the ground!' Whilst not a problem for men, it is not quite as easy for the women to use! Eventually you will find your typical 'sit down' toilet, but failing that, you will either have to grin and bear it and aim well, otherwise cross your legs and hope for the best!
