| Smoking |
|
Italy became the third country in Europe (January 2005, after Ireland and Norway) to ban smoking in indoor public places. This includes bars and restaurants (unless they have a designated separate smoking area). There can be fines of up to €2000 for bar and restaurant owners who do not enforce the ban. If you are a smoker please be aware that you can only purchase cigarettes from a Tabbachi (like a newsagents) you cannot buy them from the local supermarkets. Better still don't smoke as it is extremely bad for your health (and breath) and save the money for a holiday on Lake Como! |
