We would like to introduce you to Missoltini. Missoltini are typical fish found in Lake Como that are sun-dried and conserved in barrels with salt and bay leaves under light pressure. A lot of skill is needed to prepare this fish dish so we suggest that you buy them via placing an order with a local restaurant. Therefore this leaves you to collect the missoltini once they are ready, take them home and clean them carefully with some warm water to remove the salt and grease. Missoltini are served traditionally with Polenta (preparation of polenta can vary according to personal preference and be used as either a first or main course). As the classical main course, the missoltini is served with simple warm Polenta. Alternatively put the missoltinis on the grill for a while and serve with well grilled slices of polenta. For presentation decorate the plates with freshly chopped parsley. A full-bodied red wine is the ideal drink to accompany this delicious dish. |
