Acquarium Genoa

The biggest aquarium in Europe features sharks, dolphins and hundreds of other beautiful fish. The Aquarium’s 59 tanks reproduce marine and terrestrial habitats from throughout the world and provide a home for more than 6000 creatures belonging to 600 different species. The Aquarium has a mission to increase public awareness of environmental problems.

As well as the acquarium there are the following things to see;

  •  The Biosfera –  a structure of glass and steel with a diameter of 20 metres. It is a botanical garden accommodating tropical plants and animals.
  •  Centre for children – the first big centre in Italy dedicated not only to play but also science and technology for children aged 2-14 years.
  •  Maritime Museum – dedicated to man and the sea.

Journey Time –  approximately 2-3 hours by car from Como (as long as traffic flow is good) and is a distance of approximately 190km.
