Walking is another good way to get around Lake Como as well as keeping you fit and healthy. It allows you further explore the narrow side-streets in the quaint villages. You can walk almost anywhere, although parts of the lakeside road can be dangerous as there are no continuous paths and at some points, no grass verge to move on to. You just have to be careful and use common sense when walking along the roadside. Once again, in the summer months, please make sure that you take a bottle of water with you, which you can always refil at one of the taps in the villages. If you are planning a long walk, then comfortable shoes/sandals are a must to avoid getting blisters!
