Pedestrian Zone in Bellagio

1bellagio The Mayor of Bellagio has suggested that the historical centre of the town should be made into a pedestrian zone similar to that of Portofino, Italy.

The propsed plan is to close the centre of Bellagio to all traffic and to build a two-level car park under Villa Giuli instead. Both residents and tourists would benefit greatly from this plan giving them a car free zone to walk around in not to mention the clean streets and piazzas and less noise. Hotels would also benefit as they would have more space for setting set out tables and chairs along the lakeside.

The go-ahead for these plans has not yet been given as it is still under discussion.
