Important figures of the cinematographic world which include; the president of the Rome Film Festival, Adrian Pintaldi, the actor and sound engineer Giancarlo Giannini and the president of the International Prize of Cinematographic Scenario " Family and Italian Style”, Mark Di Giandomenico – are already preparing for the event with the full support of the council which will hopefully become an annual event in Lake Como. Due to the fact that Como is becoming widely known on an international level for film location this opportunity cannot be dismissed. This film festival could become as famous as Cannes or Los Angeles. Cultural manager Marco Di Giandomenico said that even though Hollywood produces many great films, many of their scenes are filmed in Europe.The Como Film Festival could therefore attract many celebrities to the lake as well as film producers, directors etc. City council member Sergio Gaddi put forward the plan at yesterdays meeting. The Lariano Festival will therefore be a little different from the usual annual festivals with the main event being represented by cinema and literature. |
