This dish is also known as ‘apple fritters’. This authentic Italian desert is found mainly in the northern region of Italy. The dish consists of cored and sliced apple rings, marinaded in some lemon juice and then dipped in batter (ingredients for this may vary slightly). The apple rings are deep fried until they turn a nice crispy golden brown. They are then taken out of the saucepan put on a plate and dusted with icing sugar (it is an idea to lay some kitchen roll on the plate first to help soak up any excess oil).
