Bars & Cafes

A multitude of bars and cafès are situated along the shoreline of Lake Como. However if you want to get away from the busy tourist spots, you can find quaint little bars hidden away up one of the many narrow streets away from the main piazza. It is worth taking a good wander around the town as you are more likely to find the places where the locals have their coffees and panini. Please note that in many of the bars (but not all of them), you are often expected to place your order at the till and pay first. Once you are given your receipt you then present this to the bar staff and they will prepare your drink. It is usually cheaper to stand at the counter with your coffee as you are charged extra if you want to sit down.
