This church with its Baroque architecture stands prominent in the Piazza of Vercana with fantastic views over the lake. The interior of the church houses beautiful frescoes that portray ‘stories of the Virgin Mary’ ascribed to Domenico Caresana and his son, of Lugano. Both father and son worked on the small chapels too. You can also see frescoes by the painter Antonio Maria Caraccioli, known as “Caracciolo of Vercana” a native villager who emigrated to Palermo in 1770. There are also some exquisite sculptures of statues to see as well as frescoes.
